Attention:  Seniors!

NWF State College awards two honors scholarships each year to the top-ranked students from each public high school in Okaloosa and Walton counties. Students selected for these scholarships must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale and must claim the award in the fall term immediately following high school graduation. Honors scholarships cover tuition and fees for 48 in-state credit hours at NWF State College. The scholarship will cover 12 credits of tuition during the Fall and 12 credit hours during the Spring terms. Students must enroll as full-time (12 credits or more) students each term.

To renew the scholarship for a second year, students must maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and will need to complete at least 67% of the courses in which they enroll.

Additionally, Honors Scholarship students must enroll in and complete SLS1201, Community Service Seminar, during the fall term of their freshman year. SLS1201 is a 1 credit course requiring 5 lecture hours and 20 hours of volunteer service at agencies in the public or private sector.

Additional requirements if you are selected:

  • A 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed before May 1, 2023. www.fafsa.ed.gov
  • An NWF State College application for admission must be completed and submitted by the student before July 1, 2023
