Admissions Process

Interested students are strongly encouraged to submit a completed application during the priority application period as space in at Collegiate High School is limited.

Applications are stamped with the date they are received and entered into the appropriate application period. Applications received with an earlier date in an application period will have no advantage over an application received at a later date in the application period.

PRIMARY APPLICATION PERIOD: February 1, 2024 through February 29, 2024

  1. The primary application period includes applications received from February 1, 2024 and on or before 4:00 P.M., February 29, 2024.

  2. If the number of eligible applicants does not exceed the capacity of the program or grade level, all eligible applicants will be admitted.

  3. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the capacity of the program or grade level, eligible applicants shall have an equal chance of being admitted through a random lottery.

  4. If a lottery is necessary, it will be held on March 4, 2024.

  5. When the capacity of a program or grade level is met through the lottery process, the remaining eligible applicants will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which their name was drawn in the lottery.

SECONDARY APPLICATION PERIOD:  March 1, 2024 through March 31, 2024

  1. Applications received from March 1, 2024 and on or before 4:00 P.M., March 31, 2024, will be included in the secondary application period.

  2. If the combined number of eligible applicants in the primary and secondary application periods does not exceed the capacity of the program or grade level, all eligible applicants in the secondary application period will be admitted.

  3.  If, in combination with the number of applicants admitted in the primary application period, the number of eligible applicants exceeds the capacity of the program or grade level, eligible applicants in the second applicant pool shall have an equal chance of being admitted through a lottery.

  4.  If a lottery is necessary, it will be held on April 8, 2024.

  5.  When the capacity of a program or grade level is met through the lottery process, the remaining eligible applicants will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which their name was drawn in the lottery.

Applications will continue to be accepted after the secondary application ends and applicants will be admitted or placed on a waiting list as openings allow.

Waiting List

The names of all eligible applicants participating in the random selection process and not admitted to the charter school will be placed on a waiting list in the order that the name was drawn in the lottery.

Enrollment

Once the applicant has been admitted to the school and has accepted the invitation to enroll, he/she is not required to apply to the school for future enrollment periods unless the student has officially declined to enroll or has officially withdrawn from the Collegiate High School at NWFSC.
