Admissions

Admission to Collegiate High School is open to any public, private, or home school student who has completed grades 8, 9, or 10. Applicants must submit an online application by the established deadlines to be eligible for the online lottery selection process. Enrollment is limited based on availability of space in the program or grade.

Information Sessions

All sessions and formats will present the same information. It is not necessary to attend more than one session. For your convenience, we have given the option of online or in-person sessions.

Information sessions provide you with more information about the school and give participants time to ask questions.

Steps to Prepare for Your Application:

(1) Plan to attend an information session to learn more about Collegiate High School

(2)Take note of the application dates and deadlines

  • There are three application periods for each school year – priority, secondary, and general.

    • Priority- February 1- February 28

    • Secondary- March 1- March 31

    • General- April- August

(3)Decide which program is right for your student

  • Read more about the programs offered at Collegiate High School. Applicants must choose their program as part of the application process.

(4) Complete your placement testing

  • Applications require either ACT, SAT, CLT, or PERT scores.

  • Applicants should plan ahead when scheduling their placement tests, keeping in mind that it may take six weeks or more to receive completed ACT, SAT, and CLT scores.

  • PERT scores are provided at the end of the testing session.

  • Additional attempts at placement tests may cause delays.

(5) Request your school transcript

  • Your completed application must also include a school transcript.

  • In January, after the completion of your first semester, request your fall semester transcript from your current school and allow time to receive it.

  • A transcript from your school is the only grade/course verification accepted with your application.

    • Report cards or screen shots of online grades are not permitted for admittance.

    • The transcript does not need to be in a sealed envelope. You will scan and submit it within the online application.

(6) 2025-2026 Application

  • Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will be available to complete online beginning February 1, 2025.

Admission Requirements

Collegiate High School programs are open to any public, private, or home-schooled student based on the criteria outlined below.  All programs are subject to enrollment limitations based on program and grade level.

A Collegiate High School application with transcripts and test scores must be submitted by the established deadlines for all applicants.

Any student entering high school for the first time must enter as a 9th grader (freshman) no matter how many credits were earned while in middle school, in accordance with the 24-25 OCSD Pupil Progression Plan. Students who earn the required high school credits may apply early for graduation. More information can be found at OCSD High School Pupil Progression Plan.

9th Grade Eligibility

  • Completion of 8th grade science, math, history, and English

  • Minimum unweighted GPA for all credits earned as of the close of fall 2024 semester for admission purposes and maintained through spring 2025 for enrollment purposes: Collegiate 3.0, Pre-Collegiate 2.5

  • Meets minimum placement score requirements (see below for placement scores)

  • For Collegiate High School's application requirements, middle school GPA will be calculated using only the average of the core courses of science, math, history, and English.

    • 90-100 (A)= 4 points

    • 80-89 (B)= 3 points.

    • 70-79 (C)= 2 points

    • 60-69 (D)=1 point.

10th Grade Eligibility

  • Completion of 9th grade and a minimum of 5 high school credits to include English I and Algebra I

  • Minimum unweighted GPA for all credits earned as of the close of fall 2024 semester for admission purposes and maintained through spring 2025 for enrollment purposes: Collegiate 3.0, Pre-Collegiate 2.5

  • Meets minimum placement score requirements (see below for placement scores)

11th Grade Eligibility

  • Completion of 10th grade and a minimum of 10 high school credits to include English I, English II,  Algebra I, and Geometry

  • Minimum unweighted GPA for all credits earned as of the close of fall 2024 semester for admission purposes and maintained through spring 2025 for enrollment purposes: Collegiate 3.0

  • Meets minimum placement score requirements (see below for placement scores)

Pre-Collegiate

Each year Collegiate High School accepts 20% of students into the 9th and 10th grade programs who do not meet the GPA and/or college readiness placement score requirements. These students are classified as Pre-Collegiate and will be placed in a separate lottery for admittance based on availability in each program or grade level. Students are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet the PERT score requirements, as exceptions can be made based on program availability.

Application Periods

Interested students are strongly encouraged to submit a completed application during the primary application period as space at Collegiate High School is limited.

Applications received on an earlier date in an application period will have no advantage over an application received on a later date in the application period.

  1. The application periods include all complete applications received during the designated dates.

    • Applications submitted through the online Lotterease program must include all requested information to be considered complete.

  2. If the number of eligible applicants does not exceed the capacity of the program or grade level, all eligible applicants will be admitted.

  3. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the capacity of the program or grade level, eligible applicants shall have an equal chance of being admitted through a random lottery.

  4. If a lottery is necessary, it will be run on the designated dates by 4:00 PM.

  5. When the capacity of a program or grade level is met through the lottery process, the remaining eligible applicants will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which their name was drawn in the lottery.

PRIMARY APPLICATION PERIOD: February 1 through February 28

  • If a lottery is necessary, it will be run on March 12, 2025 by 4:00 PM.

SECONDARY APPLICATION PERIOD:  March 1 through March 31

  •  If a lottery is necessary, it will be run on April 9, 2025, by 4:00 PM.

GENERAL APPLICATION PERIOD:  April- August

  • Applications will continue to be accepted after the secondary application ends and applicants will be admitted or placed on a waiting list as openings allow.

Collegiate High School admits students via a random selection lottery when the number of applicants exceeds capacity of a program or grade level. The lotteries held for each grade level and program are listed below.

Waiting List

The names of all eligible applicants participating in the random lottery selection process and not admitted to the charter school will be placed on a waiting list in the order that the name was drawn in the lottery.

Continued Enrollment

Once the applicant has been admitted to the school and has accepted the invitation to enroll, he/she is not required to apply to the school for future enrollment periods unless the student has officially declined to enroll or has officially withdrawn from the Collegiate High School at NWFSC.
