C.W. Ruckel Middle School

This weekend, Ruckle Middle School's Speech and Debate Team had the honor of sending five of its highest-ranking students to Orlando, Fl, to compete in the National Civics and Debate Championship. As noted on the NCDC website, "[w]hile most conventional debate tournaments require students to compete in only one event, the NCDC “triathlon” requires students to compete in different debate events on each of the three tournament days. With exemplary performance in rigorous contests aligned with Florida’s standards, students compete in the areas of Congressional Debate, Extemporaneous Debate, [and] Impromptu Speaking." The following five RMS students demonstrated grit and growth as they challenged themselves through a weekend of grueling competition: Faith Cotterman, Allie Klucewicz, Benjamin Nusimow, Catherine Middleton, and Jocie Palang. We are so proud of these RAM leaders and all they've accomplished!

PTO is hosting the Ruckel Middle School Dance on Thursday, February 19th from 5:30pm-7:30pm in the cafetorium.
We need approximately 40 volunteers to chaperone this event. ALL volunteers must have a current Volunteer Application Approved prior to the dance.

Congratulations to our 12 Florida All-State Honor Choir members who earned a place among the best singers in the state. We are officially headed to Tampa and can’t wait for an amazing All-State experience.

The lengths some teachers will go to to help keep their students motivated! Mrs. Nespoli held a goal setting competition. The winners, 8 students, cut her hair to donate to Children with Hair Loss (11 inches)!

Congratulations to our Academic Team for their great showing at Saturday's competition at Liza Jackson. Varsity couldn't compete due to low numbers because many of our members were marching in the Christmas Parade, but JV's outstanding performance made up for it. This is the third time in three competitions so far this year that our Junior Varsity has come in 1st Place, winning all 7 of their matches! Wow! Go Team Ruckel!

Calling all Ruckel students, grades 6-8! Have a talent you’d like to share? Singing, dancing, instruments, juggling, comedy, yo-yo, gymnastics, you name it--solos or groups!
